Rating Summary
One Piece: Into the Grand Line isn't for everyone. Its combination of intense, often life-or-death situations, adult language, and violence is in direct opposition to its childish aesthetic, immature characters, and silly premise, yet it somehow works.

In the treacherous, unpredictable currents of the Grand Line, where islands defy logic, and legends lurk at every horizon, the Straw Hat Pirates—Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, and their growing crew—set sail into uncharted peril. ONE PIECE: Into the Grand Line unleashes fiercer foes, wilder wonders, and sky-high stakes as the dream-chasers chase the ultimate treasure through storms of giants, ancient secrets, and shadowy organizations bent on control.

ONE PIECE Family Warning

It’s Not a Family Show
  • Were this a children or family program, we’d include our PARENTAL NOTES. However, despite its colorful imagery and cartoon and comic book origins, ONE PIECE is not intended for children, and families should pay close attention to the TV-14 rating. This one is there for a reason.
    • Violence is the show’s main dish. It may not be bloody, but it is intense and constant.
    • This season triples down on the cursing. There’s only one F-bomb, but there are countless instances of s#!t, d@mn, h3!!, etc.
    • There are a handful of fairly attractive ladies whose cleavage is on display throughout. They aren’t wearing anything you wouldn’t see young ladies wearing at the local mall (if young ladies still visited malls), but again, the show looks like it’s something for young kids.

    Worth ItMostly WokeB

In the manga, Mr. 3 is neither gay nor transgender, and he appears in season 2 wearing nail polish on his hands. My daughter’s first question was: “Is that a girl or a boy?”… Well, he’s supposed to be a guy, but as usual, let’s add a bit of femininity. On top of that, the actor’s presence isn’t convincing at all (the complete opposite of the manga version of Mr. 3), and he’s often criticized about his own sexuality. This is clearly a deliberate choice by the studio to shove their wokeness down our throats.

Koby in season 1 is outright transgender. Mr. 3 in season 2 is a gratuitous addition. And watch out—in season 3, Mr. 2, aka Bon Clay, should make his appearance (he’s already trans in the manga, just so you know), so you can expect some wild stuff in that season.

I’ll push through to the end of season 2 (but I won’t go any further for my kids) because we should see Chopper, who is an animal—hopefully they haven’t invented any crazy changes!
