On a massive starship carrying thousands of colonists to a distant new planet, two passengers, a mechanical engineer and a writer, awaken 90 years too early from their hypersleep pods. Alone in the vast emptiness of space with only each other for company, they form a deep and unexpected connection, only to discover a terrifying truth that threatens their lives and the fate of everyone still sleeping aboard. Passengers is a romantic sci-fi thriller about love, isolation, and impossible choices.

I just bought the movie on dvd. It is a guilty pleasure of a movie. I mean the main character basically kills the female lead by waking her up. So not a good guy. But the depth of his isolation despair is such a human reaction most can see themselves drawn to the same action. Then the coupling with each other bc well there is no one else awake..in a play land in space can appeal in fantasy to many. The idea of making a life even flourishing in what is a horrifying situation is an iconic movie character arc. So I understand the allure of the world created in the movie Worth a watch if you enjoy taking a leap into sci-fi/romantic/action.
