So far, so good. I’m half way through E03 but I’m really liking it and I was really exited about this show.
First of all no woke sh*t at all. I was afraid that they were going to do something with the black reporter (Robbie Robertson) but he is struggling to find a job in a highly segregated era, so his story works.
A little slow but hey, feels like the very old 30’s detective series and I’m not in a hurry.
Cinematography is awesome if you watch it in B&W like me. I love those high contrasts. If anything, I would want the film to be grainier, the HD thing doesn’t really work for me, but I’m a big fan of old movies, so that’s just me.
Not gonna spoil anything but I love how it looks when the Spider things start happening. I know it’s all CGI, but they figured out a way to make it feel real, like if they had used practical effects. It’s pretty awesome.
My only problem is Cage. I’ve always had a big problem with the actor. You know those great actors that disappear behind their characters? He has never achieve that IMHO. For me he is always Nicolas Cage no matter what he plays. But that is my personal opinion and besides that everything about this show looks great so far.
Highly recommend it so far, although again, I’m just half way through E03… so who know what I’ll think at the end of the season. But I’ll update this once I’m done.
